A PROUD MOMMY POST!

      I am proud to announce that my daughter, Bella is a PRINCIPAL SCHOLAR!!! She is only in kindergarten but she is at the top of her class and I am proud!! She loves to read, write and is a little perfectionist! Most of my family and friends say she is my mini-me but I can honestly say, we do have a lot of the same qualities but she is much more focused and determined than I was at her age. Watching Bella walk on stage to get her award brought tears to my eyes.  I smiled from ear to ear and my heart was heavy!! I was so overjoyed with emotion that I couldn't contain myself. Being a single, divorced mother of two,  with lots of things on my plate, I sometimes feel like I am neglecting my babies. This little bit of joy reminded me that I must be doing something right! I THANK GOD everyday for my kids, life and being able to smile in the midst of storms!! I love you, Bella! Keep up the FAB WORK!! THERE IS NOTHING MORE DANGEROUS THAN BEING FEMALE WITH AN EDUCATION!!! The sky is NOT THE LIMIT!!!

Finding a CHURCH HOME!

      CHURCH!!!! I have made it a top priority to find a church home this year. I have been living in Atlanta for the past 3 1/2 years and I have yet to find a church to call home. I am pretty sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I haven't visited many but to be honest, I am really afraid to committing when I have doubts. As a child, I did not grow up in a church but GOD was prevalent in my home. We were taught to pray, read the bible and BELIEVE but going to church was not something we did. My daddy was not fond on church because of some things he experienced while growing up, so with that bad taste in his mouth, we prayed at BEDSIDE BAPTIST! It wasn't until I was an adult that I wanted to start experiencing religion on a different level.  I found a church (Koinonia Worship Center,  West Park, Fl) that I really LOVED  and attended until I moved here. So now I find myself back on the journey of finding a place to call home.  I welcome all suggestions and invitations on visiting different church homes because when 2012 rings in I will be celebrating with my new church family!

My Weekend Ahead!!!!

      One of my good friends ask me to do something that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOING.... DECORATING!! I swear in my next life, I will be an interior designer. I have been so looking forward to shopping and decorating her home. We have been planning this day for about a month and I must admit I am a little hyped! I love finding purchases that say WOW! BUT.... WHAT I LOVE MOST OF ALL IS FINDING THAT PURCHASE THAT SAYS: "OK, CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THIS!" I get such a rush screaming out prices throughout the store... $14.99, $12.99,  OH MY GOSH, ITS ONLY $19.99. I got my outfit ready, my shoe game down and the aspirin for the excitement! Before the SHOPPING JOY BEGINS I MUST BEGIN MY DAY WITH THESE!!!

A shopping day is never complete without having some IHOP PANCAKES WITH WARM SYRUP!

Today I will remember My Angel: Princess Star Jones

      Today, was the day that God decided to give me my own personal Angel. I went to the hospital knowing that I was never going to come out the same way I went in. I knew that Star was not going to come home, but the reality of it was,  I had to come to grips with delivering my princess and still find a way to live. The moment she entered this world my heart overflowed with love, resentment and unclarity. I had questions that I knew never were going to be answered. After holding her and saying a silent prayer I was able to let go or so I thought. Somehow, I found the strength to say goodbye. I left the hospital with peace but God knows I was hurting. I hurt for days, weeks, and months. I just wanted God to allow me to have one more day. I wrote poetry, read the bible and cried. I did this for weeks without anybody knowing, not even my husband, until one day, something inside of me said YOU must find a way to go on. Be FREE, Be HAPPY and SMILE. On the outside looking in, I'm pretty sure everyone thought I was doing great, but behind close doors I was a complete mess. I put on my mask and hid it very well. It has been 7 years, since I lost my Princess Star and although I no longer cry as much as I used to, I am doing well! I am surviving! I am HAPPY! GOD placed her in my life for only a short time but she will forever LIVE IN MY HEART! STILL MISSING YOU....

Closet Inspired!

      I have longed to have my closet become GLAMTASTIC.... I would love for a professional to come in and bedazzle my closet. My dream is to paint the walls cotton candy pink, the shelving be black or expresso brown, a chandelier, a mod chair and a picture of some sort that SCREAMS ME!!!! I have found some closet inspired pics that has me hoping and praying that my dream will come true!!!

Today is the Day!!!!! The GAME IS BACK!!!

THE GAME IS BACK! THE GAME IS BACK!!! CAN YOU HEAR THE EXCITMENT IN MY VOICE!! I have been in T.V. mourning since The Game and Girlfriends has been off the air. I rallied, petition and called until I was blue in the face for these t.v. shows. So when I heard that B.E.T. was bringing back The Game I was ESTASTIC AND FULL OF GLEE!!!!  Tomorrow night, my ringer on my cell will BE OFF,  I will be in my bedroom, door locked with a DO NOT DISTURB ON THE DOOR!!! BECAUSE I will be TUNED IN TO DERWIN, MELANIE, JASON, KELLY, MALIK AND THE MZ. TASHA MACK!!!


     TUESDAY NIGHTS WILL BE BETTER THAN EVER, NOW THAT THE GAME IS BACK!!!!

I have been in Atlanta for 3 1/2 years and I still act like this is the first time I have seen snow!!!           A-MAZ-ING!!!!
